The sun shining at midnight

The sun shining at midnight is a symbol of the illumination reached after a long walk and meditation in the ascetic fi eld. It may be considered one of "the seeds of the Word" present in non-Christian religions, "a starting, pedagogically valid, towards the true God or a preparation to gospel" (Ad Gentes, 11). Also my experience is an affi rmation of this fact: along my spiritual way I have received my outstanding graces during the deep night silence while praying in the chapel or during retreats and spiritual exercises.
